Unniyarcha(AD.1620) was the daughter of Kannappa Chekavar and sister of Aromal Chekavar. She was a courageous Thiyya(Ezhava) woman.She was expert in both Kalarippayytu and Horse riding. Puthooram veedu was situated in Thalassery not in Vadakara. Vadakara was the place of Thacholy Kurup(AD.1795). There was another woman in Thacholy family her name was Thacholy Unnitharcha. It was believed that she was kidnapped by Tippu.
